Valuation Coverage
Valuation is your protection against loss or damage during transit. Professional Movers.com offers two coverage options:
Limited Liability (Released Value) – Available at no additional cost. In the event of a claim, compensation is calculated at 60 cents per pound per article. For example, a 10-pound item would be compensated at $6.00 regardless of its actual value. This option is included by default but provides minimal protection.
Full Replacement Value Protection – The most comprehensive coverage available. If an item is damaged, it will be repaired or replaced at current market value with no depreciation applied. If an item is lost or cannot be repaired, settlement is based on the cost of a replacement of like kind and quality. You must declare a minimum shipment value of $5,000 or $5.00 per pound times your shipment weight (whichever is greater). Deductible options are available to reduce your coverage premium.
Any item valued at more than $100 per pound is considered a High Value Article and must be declared on the High Value Inventory Form prior to loading. Your Moving Consultant will walk you through all valuation options during your estimate appointment.

Note: Extraordinary Value
Under the Full Replacement Value option, your mover is also permitted to limit its liability for loss or damage to articles that have extraordinary value, unless you have specifically listed these articles on the “Inventory of Items Value in Excess of $100 Per Pound Per Articles” form. An article of extraordinary value is any item whose value exceeds $100 per pound. Ask your mover for a complete explanation of this limitation of liability before you move.
The charge for a maximum valuation exceeding $250,000.00 is the applicable charge for the first $250,000.00 declared, plus the additional rate shown above per $100.00 for the amount in excess of $250,000.00.
